VFL-affiliate Werribee will take on West-Australian club Claremont at Patersons Stadium, and the Tigers will boast a strong North contingent.
Ben McKinley is one player hoping to lead the charge in attack for the Tigers, and will hope to make the most of his own experience against the WAFL club.
“I played against them a lot when I was over at West Coast. They’re a really good side,” McKinley told Gerard Whateley and Mark Robinson on Fox Footy’s AFL 360.
“They’ve got a lot of really good ex-AFL players, and they have the alignment with both Fremantle and West Coast so they’ve got some good players that we’re really going to have to try and restrict.”
McKinley kicked five goals in the Semi Final against Morningside and his combination in attack with Ben Warren will be vital to Werribee’s chances.
“It’s going to be a great opportunity to get over there and show our stuff on a different ground against different opposition.
“If we play our best footy, which has been a challenge for us at times this year, we can certainly take it up to them.”
While the Kangaroos’ final side is yet to be confirmed for the clash against the Bulldogs, Majak Daw, Levi Greenwood, Ayden Kennedy, Cam Pedersen and Will Sierakowski are among those named for the Tigers.
Claremont defeated VFL powerhouse Port Melbourne by 50-points in its last outing, following comprehensive wins over West Adelaide and Mt Gravatt.
The winning team will collect a $60,000 prize.
