Emerging forward Zane Duursma will be available for selection for North Melbourne’s season opener against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium after overcoming a quad strain.
Duursma has resumed training having bounced back quickly from the low-grade injury he sustained last month.
The Kangaroos approach Round 1 with no fresh injury concerns, with star onballer George Wardlaw tracking positively in his hamstring rehab.
Wardlaw, who injured his hamstring during a late January training session, is completing his skill and running programs at a good intensity, and is expected to return in approximately four-to-six weeks.
"George is ticking all the boxes we require him to and he's really attacking his conditioning work," North Melbourne's head physiotherapist Brenton Egglestone said.
Half-back Zac Fisher will be available for selection when the Roos' Round 1 team is named on Thursday night, having worked through a hamstring issue.
Fisher didn't feature against Melbourne or West Coast in the pre-season but has completed a solid conditioning block and reintegrated back into team training.
Josh Goater is progressing well in his recovery from a hamstring strain and is now completing skill and agility work, while Brayden George (knee) is reintegrating into team training after extensive end-stage testing.
"Brayden still has some final things he is working on in his individual sessions while continuing team training for the next six-to-eight weeks before we look to match exposure," Egglestone said.
On his path back from an Achilles injury, Callum Coleman-Jones is "completing a good volume of running conditioning and is transitioning into work in his boots", he said.
