North forward Mason Wood’s comeback has been delayed slightly after requiring a minor procedure on his knee.

Wood, who had been sidelined with a hamstring injury, is expected to miss a further three weeks, the club’s GM Football Cameron Joyce said.

“Mason was cleared to play in a VFL practice match on the weekend but felt some pain in his knee,” Joyce told NMFC.com.au.

“Scans revealed a tiny bone fragment floating in his knee joint that was unrelated to the previous hamstring injury. As a result, Mason underwent a minor arthroscope on Tuesday to wash it out.”

Meanwhile, fellow forwards Ben Brown and Majak Daw have both been cleared to play this week, but defender Sam Wright will need some more time to recover from his niggling ankle injury.

Declan Mountford will be put through a fitness test to determine his availability this week, after he copped a knock to his AC joint with Werribee on Sunday.
