Ben Cunnington has put himself in the frame for a recall after a strong individual performance in the VFL last Sunday.
The veteran, who hasn’t featured in the AFL side since Round 8, won a team-high nine clearances from his 24 possessions in the reserves' loss to Werribee.
He was one of North Melbourne's best afield last time the Roos met the Dees, gathering 27 touches, 11 clearances and a goal on what was a difficult evening at the MCG.
Third-year Roo Charlie Lazzaro has again thrown his name into the selection mix.
The midfielder/half-forward was named to play against the Saints in Round 19 but was a late withdrawal due to back tightness. He returned to the VFL last weekend and had 23 disposals and six inside 50s, putting himself in line for a fourth senior match for the season.
Cooper Harvey has earned consideration after producing five individual scoring shots against Werribee. While not fully making the most of his opportunities, managing one goal from his nine touches, the young forward also applied plenty of defensive pressure at ground level.
Blake Drury (13 disposals, three marks in the VFL) has been working towards a recall since being omitted for Round 11's clash with Collingwood. He offers pace which can be deployed by returning senior coach Alastair Clarkson at either half-back or half-forward.
Kallan Dawson shapes as a potential inclusion who could help North Melbourne's defence counteract a dynamic Melbourne forward line that kicked 20 goals against Richmond last week.
Dawson tallied 21 touches, seven marks and a handful of intercepts against the Tigers and would make his season debut if selected.
After being subbed off with a knee issue against the Eagles, Josh Goater has since been cleared and is likely to hold his position in the team, while fellow defenders Aiden Bonar (knee), Flynn Perez (knee) and Aaron Hall (Achilles) all face tests ahead of the trip to Hobart.
