Archer in sin bin
Shinboner of the Century Glenn Archer has lost his four most treasured football medals and is pleading for them to be returned.
Archer is missing his two premiership medals, the Norm Smith medal and the Madden medal, which combined on-field excellence with off-field development.
But the Shinboner of the Century isn’t holding his breath.
"The chances of getting them back are very minimal. They are probably on the bottom of some tip with the tractor tyres," he told the Herald Sun's Mark Robinson.
"I'd love to get them back. I've got so much memorabilia at home, but nothing I really care about except those medals."
Normally taking pride of place in his home office, Archer allowed Abbey his 12-year old daughter, to take the medals to school for a presentation.
Afterwards Archer decided to clean out her bag and accidentally threw the medals away.
"I'd forgotten that (Abbey took the medals to school) until I started to clean the office shelves. I clicked that Abbey had them and then I had a double-click and though, 'Oh no' - because a month before, I went through the kids' school bags.
"I had emptied them onto the kitchen table, and I got a bin and pushed all the rubbish into the bin. There was a mountain of rubbish and obviously the medals were in there."
