Although he only played 70 minutes and had just nine possessions, Campbell looked comfortable back out on the field after recovering from a serious hamstring injury.
"He got through well," North development coach Jason Lappin told kangaroos.com.au.
"He had a five bounce run and carry down the wing to kick inside 50 that was a great sign his hamstring is fully recovered. It shouldn't be long before he is back in top form."
Cruize Garlett and Cameron Richardson were again among the best for the Roosters, but the three-time premiers received a reality check against ladder leader Port Melbourne.
In front of its home crowd, North Ballarat had the better of the opening term and worked hard for a nine-point lead at the first change. It was all the Borough thereafter though, Patrick Rose booting eight goals in the 64-point win.
Richardson (27 possessions) continued his recent purple patch and used the ball efficiently by foot (75%) to again signal his intention of a call-up. His eight one-percenters also highlighted his work defensively.
Having last represented North Melbourne in round nine, Garlett (32 possessions) excelled at the stoppages (nine clearances, 15 contested disposals) but will be lamenting some uncharacteristic mistakes by foot (60% efficiency).
Key-forward Aaron Black pulled down five marks, three of those inside 50 and booted a goal, while Aaron Mullett (20 possessions, five inside 50's) continued his valuable linking work on a wing and at times through the middle.
Marcus White (19 disposals, seven marks) is progressing nicely after a long spell on the sidelines, while it was a tough day at the office for Cameron Delaney (six possessions) against a rampant opposition attack.
