There were a host of impressive performances, both individually and as a team.
Individual
· Aaron Mullett collected a career-high 31 disposals.
The Round 2 Rising Star nominee was consistent throughout with 11 disposals in the first quarter, 6 in each of the second and third and finished strongly with 8 in the final term.
He also had a team-high 12 handball receives as he created a lot of North’s rebound from the back half of the ground.
- Aaron Black kicked a career-high five goals.
Black was a key part in North’s first quarter blitz. He kicked four of the Kangaroos’ nine goals, all from set shots as he found space amongst the St Kilda defence.
The number 35 now has 15 goals in his six games this season, which sees him third at Aegis Park.
· Lachlan Hansen had a career-high 22 uncontested possessions among what was also a high mark of 27 disposals.
Often playing as the loose man in front of Nick Riewoldt, Hansen carried out the role to perfection. When North gained possession, the defender would often work higher up the ground, giving the Roos an extra option on the ‘fat’ side of Etihad Stadium.
Hansen has 42 marks in his four games since he came back into the side in Round 7.
Team
· The win was setup by North’s nine goal first quarter, as it lead by 55 points at the first break.
The statistics tell the story of the Kangaroos’ dominance. 9.7.61 was their seventh best opening term of all time, and the club’s best score in any quarter in nearly a decade.

Round 4 v Brisbane | +71 |
Round 7 v Western Bulldogs | +50 |
Round 10 v St Kilda | +47 |
To finish, North didn’t concede a single scoring shot after the 10 minute mark of the final quarter to perhaps silence the critics of its recent form late in games.
