One of Carlton’s most promising youngsters could return to face North Melbourne on Friday night.

Troy Menzel missed the Blues’ loss to Sydney due to a shoulder injury, but is set to come back if he can get through training this week.

“We thought he (Menzel) might get up last week but he was still quite sore from the week before,” Carlton’s GM Football Operations Andrew McKay told the club’s website.

“We’re hopeful he’ll get up. It’ll depend on the pain involved in the shoulder, if it’s ok (after training) then he’ll play.”

Meanwhile Jarrad Waite and Dylan Buckley are set to return through the Blues’ VFL affiliate this weekend.
