Ryan Clarke will be looking to continue his flying start to the VFL season when Werribee faces Footscray on Saturday.
Clarke kicked four goals and had 27 disposals last week against Geelong’s VFL outfit, and further strong performances will have the midfielder kicking the door down for AFL selection.
Elsewhere in the midfield, Jed Anderson is another closing in on an AFL recall. He was named as an emergency for North after a month of solid football for Werribee.
Ed Vickers-Willis’ call up to the Kangaroos leaves more responsibility on Sam Durdin and Daniel Nielson down back in the key defensive posts.
At the other end of the field, Majak Daw, Nick Larkey and Ben McKay will shoulder the load.
After his omission from the AFL side, Nathan Hrovat has been named for Werribee. However, he is no certainly to play given he may be the travelling emergency in Perth for North’s clash against Fremantle.
Mitch Hibberd has not been named after suffering a concussion in last week’s VFL season-opener.
