There's no denying Marley Williams has taken his game to new heights since moving to North Melbourne.
The ever-reliable defender notches up game 100 this weekend against the Lions at the GABBA but said at times, his faith was tested.
“Early on, when I was a bit younger, I thought it [100 games] would come but then a few injuries and those sort of things put me behind track, but I guess I’m just happy to get there now,” Williams told North Media.
“[I’m] a little bit more excited than most weeks but I can’t get over excited, I’ve still got a couple of days before the game.”
The shy but cheeky 25-year-old has more than earned the trust of his relatively new teammates and is one of the first picked in North's backline.
The envied North culture a major factor in Williams' improvement.
“The club’s been really welcoming to me ... great young group so its been pretty easy to transition over from the Pies,” he said.
“I thrive on energy and a lot of cheekiness around the group, so I think that’s what makes us a tight group . . . everyone’s pretty close.”
