North Melbourne’s Luke Davies-Uniacke has signed a seven-year contract extension to all but ensure he is a Roo for life.

The star midfielder was set to come out of contract and become a free agent at season’s end. However, his new long-term deal will see Davies-Uniacke remain at North Melbourne until at least the end of 2032.

His strength through the contest, quick feet, and burst out of traffic has seen Davies-Uniacke become one of the club’s and competition’s most exciting players.

In 2024 he enjoyed his best season yet, featuring in every game for the first time in his career and winning his maiden Syd Barker Medal.

North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings said the club was excited to have Davies-Uniacke commit his future to the Roos.

“Luke is a very important and much-loved member of our playing group, so to have him sign on for seven more years is brilliant news for us and our supporters,” Rawlings said.

“His long-term commitment despite significant interest from other clubs is also a fantastic show of confidence in our program and the future of the club.

“At 25, Luke has plenty of great football still ahead of him, and we look forward to watching him deliver it here at North Melbourne.”

Davies-Uniacke is the sixth Roo to recommit to the club long-term in recent years, joining Jy Simpkin, Nick Larkey, Cameron Zurhaar, Tristan Xerri (all until at least the end of 2029) and Harry Sheezel (2030).
