Jack Watkins has won a second consecutive John Law Medal after another outstanding campaign for North Melbourne's VFL side.

Although the Roos missed out on a spot in the finals, captain Watkins was a shining light in midfield, averaging 24.9 and 5.6 inside 50s over 18 appearances on his way to a medal-winning vote tally of 134.

He also represented the League early in the campaign, when the VFL faced the SANFL in a representative bout in Glenelg and earned a place in the 40-man squad for the competition's Team of the Year.

Retiree Hugh Greenwood finished as the runner-up with 111 votes, also earning a spot alongside Watkins in the VFL Team of the Year squad.

The veteran was a valuable figure in the side's midfield, averaging 21.3 disposals, 10.5 tackles and 8.2 clearances.

Rounding out the podium positions was high-flying forward Finnbar Maley who polled 85 votes in his first campaign at Arden Street.

Behind him in fourth was Louis Butler on 78 votes.

Butler was again a consistent performer for head coach Tom Lynch and also took home the VFL Best Clubman Award for his team-first attitude and unselfishness.

Key defender Jarrod Lienert was the next best with 76 votes, after a strong campaign behind the ball where he averaged 18.3 disposals and 6.9 rebound 50s.
