North Melbourne has made a late change for Saturday night's Round 4 clash against Sydney at Marvel Stadium, after illness forced Finn O'Sullivan to withdraw from the selected team.

Second-year player Riley Hardeman comes into the side to play his fourth AFL game, with the young gun to line up as the substitute.

Draftee Matt Whitlock is set to make his AFL debut against the Swans. The 18-year-old found out he'd earned the call-up during the club's team selection meeting on Thursday afternoon.

Playing in defence, Whitlock has been a standout across the VFL team's first two games, collecting 20 touches while going at 90 per cent efficiency against Casey in Round 1 before racking up 27 disposals and nine intercepts against Box Hill a week later.

Joining Whitlock as an inclusion against the Swans is fellow backman Griffin Logue, who is ready to go after overcoming a hamstring strain that has kept him sidelined for the past two weeks.

Toby Pink and Will Phillips make way this week.
