Versatile defender Lucinda ‘Lulu’ Pullar is officially a Roo, following a five-way trade between North Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, St Kilda and Collingwood.

Awarded Brisbane’s best first-year player in AFLW Season 6, Pullar arrives at Arden St along with pick 31 in the upcoming AFLW Season 8 supplementary draft as part of the deal.

North Melbourne AFLW football performance and talent manager Rhys Harwood said the club is excited about the flexibility the 24-year-old will provide the defensive group.

“At 173cm, Lulu has shown the ability to play on a variety of players across her 14 games with the Lions. She is also an elite runner and will help our system throughout all phases of the game,” he said.

“We have been eager to continue improving the depth of athleticism across our list, and we believe Lulu will add to this.

“We appreciate the hard work of all clubs involved in this trade, and particularly want to thank the Lions for their understanding of Lulu’s desire to move states for both football and career opportunities. We look forward to welcoming her to the club.”

The trade sees North Melbourne forward Ella Maurer depart to the Gold Coast, as well as pick 40 to Brisbane.

“Ella has been a valued member of our playing group since joining our program prior to Season 6,” Harwood said.

“Hailing from Tasmania, she made her debut in Round 4 last season, running out for her first game in front of her family and friends in Launceston. I’m sure none of us will forget the support she received that day.

“We wish Ella all the best with her new journey at the Suns.”
