North Melbourne has locked in its side for the highly anticipated Round 1 clash against West Coast on Saturday afternoon, with three players set to become the club's newest Shinboners.

Key defender Griffin Logue and experienced midfielder Liam Shiels will feature in the blue and white stripes for the first time after changing clubs in the off-season.

They will join No.3 draft pick and silky forward Harry Sheezel who was told on Tuesday in front of the entire club that he would be making his AFL debut.

Dynamic forward Cam Zurhaar has been given the green light to play in Alastair Clarkson's first official game as North Melbourne senior coach.

'Bull' left the ground prematurely in a practice match against the Bulldogs earlier this month due to a calf complaint, but was able to prove his fitness in Thursday's training session.

In Luke McDonald and Jy Simpkin's first AFL match as co-captains, the club will also be paying tribute to North Melbourne great Dr Allen Aylett, after he passed away in September last year.
