North Melbourne's first selection of the 2022 National Draft, Harry Sheezel, will make his AFL debut on Saturday against West Coast in the side's season-opener at Marvel Stadium.
The 18-year-old played his Under 18s football with the NAB League's Sandringham Dragons, and was taken with the third overall pick in last year's draft.
An exciting prospect upon his arrival at Arden Street, Sheezel has impressed coaches, teammates and fans over the pre-season with his performances during intraclub games and practice matches.
A crafty forward, Sheezel will bring his overall class and execution around goals to North Melbourne's forward line, but could also see minutes in the midfield and off half-back should senior coach Alastair Clarkson opt to use him all over the ground.
Sheezel found out about his debut when Clarkson announced the news during Tuesday afternoon's team meeting.
The Kangaroos' full team will be revealed on Thursday night at 6.20pm AEDT.
