North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos defender Brooke Brown will depart Arden St for an expansion club.

A talented former basketballer, touch rugby player and track and field athlete, Brown debuted for the club against Collingwood in Round 4, 2021. The 25-year-old will depart after three seasons and 24 games. 

Starting her career as ruck/ forward, Brown later found her place in the backline with her speed, agility, and game sense lending itself well to playing as a rebounding defender.

“Whilst disappointed, we understand this is the landscape of player movement at the moment and that these are difficult decisions for players to make,” AFLW football performance and talent manager Rhys Harwood said.

“We thank Brooke for her contribution across her three seasons at the club and wish her well in her next chapter.”
