Daisy Bateman kicked 22 goals in four seasons with the Roos

North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos forward Daisy Bateman will depart Arden Street after signing with the Western Bulldogs.

The Kangaroos receive draft picks 72 and 90 (pick 40 and 49 in Victoria) in the trade, while pick 74 (42 in Victoria) heads to the Bulldogs along with the 22-year-old.

Bateman leaves with the club's best wishes after 34 games in the royal blue and white stripes.

"After ongoing discussions, all parties were in agreement that it was in Daisy's best interests to take up an opportunity at another club," AFLW list and performance manager Rhys Harwood said.

"No doubt Daisy will take this opportunity at the Bulldogs with both hands.

"Dais has been a fantastic contributor to North Melbourne as a player and teammate, and as a colleague. She has been a much-loved member of our media team over her time here and she will be sorely missed."

Daisy Bateman celebrates a goal for the Roos in 2022

After arriving at Arden Street as the club's first ever AFLW draft pick ahead of the club's inaugural 2019 season, Bateman quickly established herself as a permanent fixture in the Kangaroos' forward line.

She played every game in her first three seasons as a Kangaroo, being rewarded with a NAB Rising Star nomination in 2021 following a two-goal performance against Richmond.

Three goals in 2022 took her career tally to 22, including the opener in the semi-final win over Collingwood in the abandoned 2020 finals series.

Roos expand draft options in pick swap

In addition to the Bateman trade the Kangaroos have completed a pick swap with Hawthorn.

North Melbourne will gain picks 28, 52 and 55 (14, 29 and 31 in the Victorian draft pool) while sending selections 26 and 72 (13 and 40 in Victoria) to the Hawks.
