Andrew Swallow is likely to make his return from injury against West Coast this weekend.

North Melbourne takes on an in-form Eagles' side at Blundstone Arena in Hobart on Sunday, and will be desperate to make amends following a disappointing defeat at the hands of Collingwood.

Swallow told Fox Sports News on Tuesday he was expecting to line up in the royal blue and white after two weeks on the sideline due to thumb surgery.

“I was really close to playing on the weekend, but we just thought it would be a bit too hard to get up and function at 100 per cent,” Swallow said.

“(I’m) feeling good and really confident I’ll be running out there with the boys this week.”

Swallow said the playing group was under no illusions as to the significance of Sunday’s loss and expects an interesting week at the selection table.

“When you lose a game like that, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were (changes),” he said.

“Overall, guys are probably trying to do too much. We just need to go back and play some really basic, simple football and play the percentages. It’s pretty boring to talk about, but you need that to win games of footy.

“We still have a bit of a way to go. We aren’t sitting here happy with where we are at.”

Meanwhile, Leigh Adams and Taylor Garner both got through their returns unscathed. Adams had 28 disposals for Werribee, while Garner impressed in limited game time for North Ballarat, amassing five tackles and 10 disposals.

Kieran Harper has also returned to full training and will be monitored throughout the week before any decision is made on his return from a knee injury.
