All the talk in the lead-up to Friday night was about the freezing conditions, but that didn’t stop the Hobart public turning out in big numbers.
A crowd of 17,844 surpassed the record crowd for an AFL game at Blundstone Arena.
Thanks to Spirit of Tasmania, Tim Rogers belted out some classic footy tracks, while fireworks lit up the skies of Hobart during the build-up to the first Friday night fixture ever played in the state.
The fans didn't leave disappointed, as North defeated the Tigers by 70 points.
It’s the second time in as many seasons the two sides have broken the crowd record, with 17,544 fans turning out for their clash in Round 6 of 2015.
