Still the feeling the pain of a big loss against Hawthorn, the entire North Melbourne team hopped on the bus to make the trip south from Launceston. The reception was overwhelming and the players were greeted by hundreds of children clad from head-to-toe in royal blue and white.
“Obviously we are just rapt so many North Melbourne supporters have turned out today. Getting beaten by 100-points - for them to come out and support us is just a brilliant show of faith,” defender Nathan Grima told kangaroos.com.au.
Players were grouped at seven different skills stations over the course of the day as the junior Roos participated in kicking, tackling and handball drills with their favourite players.
Following lessons on the game, they were able to grab an autograph and a showbag to make the day even more special.
“It’s great to come down here and give a bit back to the Hobart community that have really embraced us.”
