In 2003, North Melbourne captain Brent Harvey won the Jim Stynes Medal as best afield for Australia against Ireland.
To honour our champion, every day this week kangaroos.com.au will be posting a little fact to highlight his amazing career.
Did you know? Harvey's achievements
Noel Teasedale, David Dench and Wayne Carey can all boast four Syd Barker Medals, but no-one can match the efforts of Harvey who has five and counting.
Harvey won the award for the first time in 2003 and was close to winning another following one of his finest seasons in 2001.
Another significant honour is to represent your country, and the North Melbourne captain has done so on four occasions, most proudly in 2008 when he led Australia into battle. In 2003 he won the Jim Stynes Medal as best afield for Australia against Ireland.
Being chosen as one of the best 22 players in the league is an amazing achievement, and Harvey has managed the feat on four ocassions as an All-Australian.
Couple all those achievements with an EJ Whitten Medal for a stunning performance in the State of Origin, and a premiership in 1999 and you have one hell of a player.
