The result may not have gone North Melbourne’s way, but in the club’s highest scoring Fantasy performance of the year, many important players delivered big scores.
Six North players scored 110 or more in a game with a very high number of marks and tackles, making for great fantasy conditions.
Captain Andrew Swallow delivered his second straight score of 127 and vice-captain Jack Ziebell scored 110 points in two standout performances.
Here’s a review of Footy Prophet’s Fantasy Five from this week.
1. Brent Harvey ($438,000, MID/FWD)
Someone tell this guy he’s 38 years old.
Harvey produced his personal best score of 2016, finishing with 140 points from 32 disposals, six marks and three goals.
What’s even more impressive is that Boomer only scored 16 points in the first quarter, meaning he delivered 124 points in three quarters.
Anyone who picked Harvey this season would be very happy with his scoring.
2. Jamie Macmillan ($425,000, DEF/MID)
Macmillan was another player who produced a personal best score of the season, but it’s not surprising that he did.
The defender has been in red-hot form in the last month, averaging 99 points in his last five games, which includes three hundreds.
Any time a player can get into a position to take 11 marks in a game, they’re going to score well and Macmillan did that while also accumulating 31 disposals.
Watch out for him next season.
3. Nick Dal Santo ($441,000, MID)
Dal Santo also had a fantastic game, scoring 120 points from 31 disposals and two goals.
It was a throwback to a few years ago when Dal Santo was one of the must-have players in AFL Fantasy.
His year has been up and down, but he definitely seems to be finishing on a strong note.
4. Sam Gibson ($460,000, MID)
It’s fair to say Sam Gibson had a strange lead-up to this game, but delivered nonetheless.
Gibson scored 83 points and strangely enough, he scored them all in the final three quarters.
He was stuck on zero for the entire first quarter and as North’s most prolific fantasy scorer of the last month, it was a very strange sight to behold.
He bounced back well to finish on a decent score.
5. Todd Goldstein ($443,000, RUC)
Goldstein was probably the only one of North Melbourne’s fantasy premium players to have a poor week.
He only scored 75 points and after his 73 last week, it’s been a poor fortnight for the ruckman.
Goldstein’s influence around the ball was restricted well by the Swans and he’ll need to bounce back next week against the Giants.
