North Melbourne’s injured players continue to make solid progress, as the Roos prepare to bounce back on Sunday against Brisbane.
Director of Football Geoff Walsh confirmed only Nathan Grima, Aaron Mullett, Daniel Nielson, Taylor Garner and Leigh Adams would be unavailable through injury this weekend.
Walsh suggested there would be plenty of competition for spots in the first home game of the Roos’ 2015 campaign.
“Several players have put their hand up for selection over the course of the pre-season and in recent VFL practice matches, and with only five players on our injury list, we will certainly have big decisions to make in match committee this week,” Walsh told NMFC.com.au.
“No player, coach, member or fan would look back on our performance in Adelaide and say they were happy with what we produced, so to have a healthy list to pick from means we can certainly take a long, hard look at our options.”
Walsh said there had been plenty of time to dissect the season opener in detail and both players and coaches were confident of turning things around on Sunday afternoon.
“We have a long season ahead and plenty of time to show that we are capable of producing some quality footy, starting with a strong performance against Brisbane at Etihad Stadium this weekend.”
