While North performed admirably against Melbourne on Sunday, it is still looking for a winning formula at AFL level, meaning David Noble could make changes to the side heading into Round 8 against Collingwood.

The successful returns of Charlie Lazzaro and Aaron Hall at AFL level have bolstered North’s playing stocks, while a number of players pushed their cases for selection against Casey in the VFL.

With a number of experienced players currently injured, the successful return of Trent Dumont in the VFL could provide a welcome boost to the side.

Dumont played just over a half of football due to minute restrictions, but got through the clash with no issues, looking classy and composed as he finished with 13 touches.

He may need another week at the level to up his match-time ahead of game 100.

On a disappointing night for the Roos’ VFL squad, Bailey Scott had 19 disposals and kicked a goal, proving a threat on the wing and in the forward line.

Tristan Xerri once again won the ruck contest, finishing with a game-high 35 hitouts as he continues to push his case for his first game of the year.

The midfield was led by Dom Tyson who, as usual, had no trouble finding the football, finishing with 27 disposals.

Will Walker struggled in front of goal as he finished with three behinds, but impressed with his ability to find the football in dangerous areas. 

Eddie Ford and Taylor Garner were both quiet in front of goal, but applied strong forward pressure throughout the contest, the latter in particular providing a strong presence when the ball hit the ground.
