Tom Powell is turning heads. The North draftee is averaging 17.5 disposals and a goal a game so far and triple All-Australian great Garry Lyon is a big fan.

“I’ve got one (shout-out), and it’s a North Melbourne player, it’s the young boy (Tom) Powell,” Lyon told SEN Breakfast. 

“He’s had a fantastic start to an AFL career. 

“He’s gone 19 and 16 (disposals) against Port Adelaide and Gold Coast, he’s kicked a goal, he’s got class, he’s got skill, he’s got talent.

Powell was selected with pick 13 at the 2020 National Draft, coming to Arden St with a solid reputation as a player that knows how to find the footy.

“He’s not getting the Braeden Campbell love, but geez he’s a good player. I just wanted to give him a shout-out.”
