Sarrita King’s NMFC ‘Our Icon’ Indigenous jumper sold out last year and this season, the talented artist has released another version of the popular design.
Primarily white, the jumper again features a large kangaroo paw print inside a football field that is surrounded by ancient tracks and Indigenous camps and communities.
Speaking from Arden Street, King talked about the significance of the design.
"I actually love the adaptation from last year’s guernsey, I’m really impressed," King told NMFC.com.au.
"The dots added to this year’s guernsey are great, it’s nice to see the original design that I painted come to life and to obscure the kangaroo footprints in the lines looks really great."

The Roos will wear the jumper for the round nine clash against Collingwood at the MCG.
"You’ve got the circle elements which represent the communities from where all the supporters come from," King explained.
"You’ve got the kangaroo footprints which represent each of those supporters coming together to uphold the North Melbourne footy club.
"The big kangaroo footprint in the middle … that for me is the club itself and everyone coming together under that one banner to uphold the club spirit."
North wore the original Indigenous jumper in two matches last year, celebrating wins against West Coast and Richmond.
The club received unprecedented interest upon its release.
"I was just happy that people loved it. I heard from people that weren’t even North Melbourne supporters saying how much they loved the design," King said.
"For me, it’s (2015) just another year of celebrating great Indigenous players, not only in the competition, but at this club.
"It’s a legacy that you guys have and now I’m a part of it. I didn’t have a connection with the club but now I do."
Indigenous star Daniel Wells said he couldn’t speak highly enough of the new design.
"(I’m) just a proud Aboriginal man to wear the jumper and represent the Kangaroos but also my community back home – my family and friends," he said.
"Last year was our first year with a jumper and to be recognised and to have that significant jumper for Lindsay (Thomas) I and the whole team can wear because this is a proud club, who’s had a lot of Indigenous players come through here.
"To have a jumper specifically for us we feel very privileged, proud and honoured the Kangas have done this for us, and we look forward to seeing a lot of people out in the crowd wearing the jumper as well."
Supporters can purchase the 2015 Indigenous jumper at Friday night’s match by visiting the Roo Shop outlets on the Etihad Stadium footbridge, Gate 5 and Gate 8.
The jumper can also be ordered online or by visiting the Roo Shop at Arden Street from Friday.
