North Melbourne has joined forces with Aqium to help create a sanitised environment for the return of football.

As Australia’s number one locally made hand sanitiser in pharmacy, Aqium aims to help avoid the spread of germs spanning from the club, at the game and in the stands.

Aqium, manufactured by Ego Pharmaceuticals, will supply the club with sanitiser for its Arden St headquarters, which houses the AFL, AFLW, VFL and VFLW programs.

North CEO, Ben Amarfio, said the partnership was essential to creating the best environment possible.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with Aqium,” Amarfio said.

“We’ve never seen a greater need to ensure we are practicing good hygiene and regularly sanitising.

“We have four teams rotating through our Arden St home as well as staff, so it’s extremely important we are taking the necessary measures to safeguard our competitions.

“The health and wellbeing of our players, members, partners, staff, and communities remain paramount and we all have a part to play.”

Ego Pharmaceuticals managing director, Alan Oppenheim, said it was an exciting opportunity.

“Aqium is delighted to partner with the North Melbourne Football Club, a Melbourne institution with a long and celebrated Australian history, just like ours,” Oppenheim said.

“We will work together to create a hygienic environment for players and community as they return to football this year.

“Aqium has been trusted by Australians for over 20 years to help sanitise hands by killing 99.99% of germs.

“We look forward to the exciting upcoming season and wish North the best for 2021.”

Aqium will feature on the match ball, and will be seen at home games at Marvel Stadium through fan engagement and activations.
