Jess Duffin will make her long-awaited return to football on Saturday after 714 days on the sidelines.
The All-Australian defender and dual athlete didn’t participate in the 2020 season after giving birth to her daughter, Georgie. More recently, her return to play has been hampered by an adductor injury.
North AFLW football operations manager, Nathan Hrovat, said the club was thrilled to have someone of Duffin’s experience and talent back in the side ahead of a crucial match against Carlton.
“It’s great to see Jess back playing football. She is very talented, and we are excited to have her back in the side this week,” Hrovat said.
“She has worked hard to give herself every opportunity to make an impact this week.
“Jess’ support network should also be incredibly proud, underpinned by the support of her husband, Chris.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming her back and adding depth and experience to our backline.”
