“Watch out North fans, ‘Cunners’ is back.”

That’s the message from skipper Jack Ziebell, who returned to the track alongside teammate Ben Cunnington on Wednesday.

The North number ten played just three games in 2020, with a back injury keeping him sidelined from round five onwards.

But Cunnington was a welcome sight at Arden Street during the Roos’ first session of 2021.

“It’s good to have Ben back. We know what he’s been through the last sort of six to 12 months, especially with his injury,” Ziebell told North Media.

“He’s done a power of work in the off-season to get himself back to where he is now … back training with the boys.

“Watch out North fans, ‘Cunners’ is back.”

The North senior players were back for their first training run, with the younger brigade having returned before Christmas.

It’s a little over a month and a half until the club’s opening pre-season fixture, against Adelaide in Hobart.
