Heath Younie can’t believe how quickly he was able to settle in at Arden Street, pointing to the club’s rich history and culture during an interview with North Media.

Younie will work closely with the club’s forwards, after arriving from the Adelaide Crows a fortnight ago.

“I was amazed when I walked in here how comfortable I did feel,” he said.

“There’s something different to what I’ve experienced … you can feel the history of the footy club; it’s over 140 years old and you can just feel that when you walk in.

“The players have been really receptive and you’ve got a great bunch of coaches who were here previously … I’ve felt really comfortable from day one.”

Younie said he can’t wait to work with David Noble again, having spent time with him at Adelaide.

“The fact that I get to work with David after four or five years, when we had a great relationship in Adelaide … I’m really excited,” he said.

“He’s (Noble) a great operator. The record speaks for itself for where he’s gone and where he’s been, they’ve had success.

“He’s a real driven person, but he’s got great empathy, builds relationships really quickly, and he gives you as a coach and an employee great autonomy to work to your strengths.

“I’m super excited to be with him again, and hopefully we can along with the other coaches and players and staff, get this traditional footy club back to where it needs to be.”
