North Melbourne will need to replenish its backline stocks ahead of Sunday afternoon's bout with Melbourne at Marvel Stadium, due to the loss of Griffin Logue, Jackson Archer and potentially, Charlie Comben.

Logue was ruled out on Tuesday after scans revealed a minor hamstring strain, while Comben (foot) will face a test prior to Thursday's team selection.

Tall defenders Kallan Dawson, Wil Dawson and Toby Pink will all be in the frame for a call-up. The trio lined up across the full-back line in the VFL side's most recent practice match, each putting in solid shifts in the narrow defeat to Sandringham.

Archer's three-match suspension for rough conduct was upheld at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night, meaning he'll miss the club's clashes with Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.

Half-backs Zac Fisher and Riley Hardeman shape as potential replacements, though both have normally been deployed as running rebounders throughout their time at Arden Street as opposed to Archer's lockdown role.

Fourth-year Roo Miller Bergman is another option for senior coach Alastair Clarkson and the match committee.

Down the other end, Cooper Harvey has raised his hand for selection after booting six goals in the VFL practice match.

It's a tough attack for the 20-year-old to break into at the moment, with Paul Curtis, Robbie Hansen jnr and Jacob Konstanty all impressing against the Western Bulldogs.
