North Melbourne has fallen to a 49-point loss at the hands of the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium.
The Eagles dominated from the outset in Saturday afternoon's clash, booting six goals to three in the opening term, but the Roos' ability to score from limited opportunities kept them in the game.
North outscored its opponents in the second term, with Mason Wood and Cam Zurhaar hitting the scoreboard, and Paul Ahern finding plenty of the ball in the back half.
The game was in the balance at the main break, but six goals to one in the third term from the home team put the result beyond doubt.
A big second half from Jared Polec saw him finish as the Roos' leading possession-winner, with 31, while Ahern had a season-high 27 touches.
Zurhaar was dangerous all day, with three goals to go with 14 disposals and eight marks, while Wood and Ben Brown kicked two apiece.
The Roos take on Hawthorn next Friday night.
