Ben Brown is hopeful of a quick return from a knee injury, after leaving the field against Geelong on Wednesday night.

The North Melbourne key-forward landed awkwardly from a tackle during the first quarter, and didn't return to the game.

"When I first did it I obviously thought about the worst, but it looked like on further examination it wasn’t too bad last night," Brown told the media on Thursday.

"I'll obviously have the scan today and we’ll see form there what the prognosis is.

"I had a bit of a look at the vision afterwards just to see what actually happened, but I think just the way I was tackled and having that twisting motion wasn’t great for the knee.

"I don’t think it would’ve been great for anyone’s knee, so just a bit unlucky I think."

It's been a challenging year for Brown, who was omitted from the team last week.

But he's committed to bouncing back, with talk about contracts the last thing on his mind.

"To be honest, I leave that stuff [contracts] to my management and the footy club," Brown said.

"As far as I’m concerned, I have an injury now that I go to rehab hoping its not too bad, and over the next couple of weeks I can get back out there playing.

"We’re working through a lot of things as a footy club, and personally as well, but I’m really confident in the way I go about my footy.

"I work hard and I’m committed to this footy club and I want to help us to have the success that I think we can in the second half of the year."
