ADELAIDE forward Taylor Walker will be sidelined for at least a month after scans revealed a low-grade strain of the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Walker injured his knee in a tackle late in the second quarter of the club's loss to the Brisbane Lions at AAMI Stadium last weekend.

The strain is at the lower-end of the scale and won't require surgery.

The injury is a blow for the 21-year-old, who was playing his first game back from a two-week hiatus in the SANFL.

It caps off a difficult two weeks for out-of-contract goalkicker after he made headlines for having a beer in the crowd at AAMI Stadium during the curtain-raiser to the game between Port Adelaide and Fremantle in round nine.
