He's used to leaving opposition players in his wake spiriting out of North's defence, but now Shaun Atley will make a dash like never before.

The explosive youngster will run for North in the Grand Final sprint and will have the chance to put his blistering pace to the test, against the quickest players in the competition.

He'll be up against some tough competition, with the likes of Collingwood’s Paul Seedsman, Fremantle’s Tendai Mzungu and Giants’ Tomas Bugg in his heat.

If he makes it through, Adelaide’s Patrick Dangerfield, Essendon’s Stewart Crameri and Geelong’s Billie Smedts could be waiting.

The heats begin at 12:20pm before the final gets underway at 1:10pm.
