Saturday’s defeat of the Bulldogs was North’s fourth in a row and remarkably its seventh in the past eight rounds.

The match also provided some interesting statistics and kangaroos.com.au takes a look at all the important numbers from the win.

The team


- North last won four games in a row from Rounds 11-14 in 2011. A win against the Bombers will extend the streak to five giving the club its best run since Rounds 15-20 in 2008, the year of its last finals appearance.

- The Kangaroos booted another 18 goals to take their season tally to 306. It was the 12th time this season they’ve scored 15 goals or more, a feat achieved 11 times in 2011.

- With 404 disposals to its name, North was the league leader in Round 19. The Kangaroos also led the way for handballs (192), and is 83 ahead of any other side in that category.

- North was far more efficient than the Bulldogs going into attack. The Dogs had 57 forward 50 entries to 47, but the away team scored 25 times to 21.

- The Kangaroos rebounded the ball better than any side in Round 19. 45 rebound 50’s was the highest total of the round and North’s highest of the year.

- Disposal efficiency was again a highlight and North boasted a 78 per cent rating by hand and foot. It was the equal-highest for the round alongside the Giants.

The individuals

- Cruize Garlett was a welcome addition to the North side with a team-high 7 clearances. He also had 22 disposals (his best tally since 2010), 13 of those contested and laid 9 tackles.

- Ryan Bastinac had a massive 28 uncontested possessions out of his 31 for the match, and pumped the ball inside 50 on 5 occasions.

- The battle between Todd Goldstein and Will Minson in the ruck was a tight one. Goldstein just edged out his Bulldog rival with 37 hit-outs to 34.

- Lachlan Hansen didn’t have a huge impact on the scoreboard, but his efforts can’t be understated. He took 9 marks, and had an impressive 93 per cent efficiency rating from his 14 disposals. He also registered 5 inside 50’s.

- Brent Harvey racked up 32 disposals. It was amazingly the 46th time during his career he’s had 30 or more possessions in a match.

- Drew Petrie’s 5 goals took him to 52 for the season, second in the Coleman Medal race. He’s now kicked 23 goals and just 3 behinds in the past 4 games.
