Only one match remains in the VFL season before finals and only one of North Melbourne’s two aligned teams is likely to play into September; but that will mean little to those still trying to push for a senior berth.

Werribee sits fourth on the VFL ladder, with a win needed against Collingwood this Sunday to retain its spot. After a disappointing loss to the Northern Blues last week, several North-aligned players will be hoping to make more of an impact and have the match committee take notice.

Levi Greenwood was good last week with 19 disposals and will be looking for another stand-out match. Plenty of players have been close to senior selection throughout the season and Ben Warren, Ben McKinley, Ayden Kennedy, Ben Speight and Will Sierakowski all a chance to stake their claim as North Melbourne heads into finals.

Meanwhile Cameron Pedersen will be watching from the sidelines this week with a minor ankle injury.

The Roosters, currently in ninth place, will return fresh after a bye last week and will have their work cut out for them against reining premiers Port Melbourne. With North Ballarat’s finals chances on the line it will rely heavily on the influence of players like Aaron Edwards, Cam Delaney and Brad McKenzie to lead the way.
