Ballarat calling
North Melbourne players, coaches and staff will depart Aegis Park en masse on Monday with the club's Community Camp set to begin in Ballarat.
The Kangaroos' representatives will head straight to Ballarat Town Hall for a civic reception with the Mayor and other city officials.
Local media will also be present and able to ask the group questions about its fourth consecutive camp in the region and expectations ahead of the 2012 season.
After a series of football clinics, community visits and general meeting and greeting, the club will conclude the two-day event with an intra-club match at Eureka Stadium.
It will be the first time senior coach Brad Scott has allowed the public to view the players in full-contact action this pre-season. Although there has been match practice at Aegis Park over the summer, games have been limited.
All eyes will be on new captain Andrew Swallow as he prepares to represent the club on the field for the first time as leader, while many will be curious to see how North champion and ex-captain Brent Harvey is shaping up ahead of his 17th season in the league.
There will be plenty of excitement each time the ball goes near hometown hero Drew Petrie with the vice-captain compiling one of the most impressive highlights reels ever last year.
Just how the teams are selected remains to be seen and some match-ups will provide plenty for Roo fans to talk about.
Todd Goldstein and Hamish McIntosh will no doubt face off in the middle while Robbie Tarrant may find himself up forward with close friend Nathan Grima keeping him in check.
Luke Delaney is an option for Petrie with Scott Thompson or Michael Firrito likely to take Aaron Edwards.
On thing is for sure, no North player will have to worry about stopping Daniel Wells with the electrifying midfielder still out of action. Majak Daw may also be sidelined as he continues to recover from a knee injury and draftee Tom Curran remains in a moon-boot with a foot problem.
All North supporters and football fans are encouraged to make their way to Eureka stadium for the match, which is due to start at 5.30pm on Tuesday.
