Three North Melbourne players have been rewarded with positions in the AFL's Team of the Week for Round 17.

Unsurprisingly Drew Petrie was named at full-forward for his seven goal haul against the Tigers. Five in the final term allowed North to get over the line and re-claim a spot in the top eight.

Petrie is now just eight goals behind the leader in the race for the Coleman Medal with 43 for the season. With 14 goals in the last two weeks, if Petrie continues in a similar vein he could be right up the top by season's end.

Petrie and Andrew Swallow polled nine votes in the AFLCA Player of the Year award, so it's no surprise to see the North captain named alongside Gary Ablett in the followers group. Swallow's 29 disposals and 10 clearances were critical to the Kangaroos' win.

Matt Campbell rounds out the trio selected in the 22 with an appearance as the substitute. With eight disposals in the final quarter and a vital late goal, the newly anointed 'super sub' provided a much needed spark.
