Andrew Swallow has been recognised for the second week in a row and the fourth time this season by the coaches, deemed North Melbourne’s best against the Eagles by Brad Scott and John Worsfold.

Swallow was the Kangaroos’ leader in disposals (29), clearances (eight) and tackles (nine) on Sunday, as he turned in an outstanding captain's effort in an attempt to get his team over the line.

The number nine polled three votes for his efforts, while the only other North Melbourne player to pick up votes was Ryan Bastinac with two.

Bastinac finished with 18 possessions, but it was his job on Daniel Kerr (12 disposals) that brought about praise from the coach.

“I thought Ryan Bastinac outplayed Kerr which is no mean feat,” Scott said following the game.

Both Swallow and Bastinac have now established a break over their team-mates on the North Melbourne leaderboard. Bastinac leads his captain by one vote, while Brent Harvey is in third place, a further five votes back from Swallow.
