Home to Roost
A seven goal to nil final term against Sandringham has helped North Ballarat secure top spot and a home final in the first week of September.
Williamstown was sitting on top of the table only an hour earlier with a 42 point win over Port Melbourne as the Roosters went into three quarter time trailing by 16 points and in danger of missing out on a home final. But a strong breeze and a best on ground performance from Myles Sewell saw the North Melbourne affiliate storm home to steal the match by 26 points.
Kangaroo Michael Wundke booted four goals for the winners while Sam Power was a solid contributor through the midfield. Retiree Shannon Watt showed he'll be a key part of North Ballarat's finals campaign with another strong performance in defence.
Luke Ball and David Armitage were the best for Sandringham.
While North Melbourne's season may be over, the Roosters' is just beginning with a guarantee of at least two finals in the coming weeks.

Eureka Stadium will host the first qualifying final against Port Melbourne on Saturday in a replay of last year's Grand Final clash. The teams have only met once so far in 2010, the Borough saluting by 78 points in the first round. With much more at stake during the finals, North Ballarat will be out to turn the tables.
Fellow North affiliate Werribee won't be seeing any action in September, but that hasn't stopped the Tigers from finishing on a positive note. The side won the last three games and capped the season off with a 95 point win against Bendigo.
The game was right in the balance at the final change with Bendigo holding the margin to just 24 points, but 12 goals in the final term saw Werribee finish in great style.
For the victors, rookie Ben Speight continued his good late-season form with four goals, while Daniel Harris was awarded best afield honours for his efforts through the midfield. Michael Barlow was also in the best for the 14th time this season after booting four majors for the Tigers.
