1. Harper on the run
Early in the second quarter, Richmond has the momentum as North Melbourne clears the ball from the defensive 50. Kieran Harper marks, handballs to Liam Anthony and continues to run. Drawing his opponent, Anthony handballs to Daniel Wells who in turn finds Harper, now on the wing.
Taking one bounce, then two and accelerating away from the chasing defender, Harper runs to 55 metres out and makes no mistake from long range.
2. Coast to coast
Ahead by just 4-points, every play is crucial for North with less than seven minutes to go. Emerging from the contest, Andrew Swallow shrugs two tackles and handballs to Wells to start one of the team goals of the year.
With a rapid-fire chain of handballs, 10 in total, North carries the ball from defence to attack. One final pass from Adams to Drew Petrie allows the big key forward to waltz into an open goal and put North 10-points up.
3. Lindsay Thomas smother
Richmond has kicked two goals in quick time to cut North's lead to just 5-points with two minutes remaining. Luke McGuane takes possession for the Tigers on half-back and they appear to be away again.
However Lindsay Thomas appears out of nowhere, diving at full stretch to smother McGuane's attempted kick out of bounds.
4. Petrie's final quarter
At three quarter time, Brad Scott says the plan is to get Drew Petrie in a one-on-one contest. It is carried out to devastating effect as Petrie kicks 5 goals in the final term on two different opponents.
Alex Rance is moved off Petrie after the first three goals of the quarter, but McGuane fares little better against the North Melbourne spearhead.
5. Adams' desperation
With just 20 seconds left, Richmond carries the ball out of its defensive 50 for one last desperate push at victory. Bachar Houli is just about to take possession when Leigh Adams arrives with courage to take the ball away.
Nursing a sore shoulder, his effort soaked up valuable seconds and prevented Richmond from mounting an attack, giving North its fifth win in six games.
