ET: Howe to Tribunal
Melbourne forward Jeremy Howe has been sent straight to the AFL Tribunal.
The second-year player has been a shining light in Melbourne's 2012 campaign so far.
The Match Review Panel's findings were as follows:
Jeremy Howe, Melbourne, has been charged with a misconduct offence in that he intentionally wiped blood from his knee on to the shorts of Tom Jonas, Port Adelaide, during the third quarter of the round 17 match between Melbourne and Port Adelaide, played at TIO Stadium on Saturday July 21, 2012.
In summary, the matter has been directly referred to the Tribunal for its determination and he cannot accept an early plea on this matter. As a note to all media, the MRP referred this matter to the Tribunal as the Table of offences does not cover this offence. There has been one previous case of a similar offence in recent seasons, from the 2002 season, before the introduction of the table of penalties.
