Could this be the week for Will Sierakowski to make his AFL debut?

If you ask the man himself, you'll still be left wondering.

"Im honestly not trying to think about it," he told kangaroos.com.au during a workout in the Aegis Park gym.

"I've been thinking about it a fair bit all year, being an emergency on a few occasions, so if it comes this week then so be it, but as far as I'm concerned right now, I've got Werribee finals to play."

Brad Scott has already admitted he could mix selection up against Greater Western Sydney before the AFL finals begin and the 22-years old's name would be right in the frame.

But Scott and the North Melbourne match committee will have to consider the finals aspirations of their affiliate Werribee. If they snatch players from the VFL ranks, the Tigers finals campaign could be impacted.

However Sierakowski says Werribee's ladder position should help alleviate any concerns.

"I'm not really sure how that'd work, but we've got the double chance in the VFL, so its not as critical as itd be if we were in an elimination final I suppose. North just has to do what's best for the team and if that means taking a Werribee player, I'm sure we will be able to cover it."

It's something the Tigers are used to with key-position players Robbie Tarrant and Lachlan Hansen playing the second half of the year in the AFL.

Other players in line for a call-up include Levi Greenwood, Ben Warren, Ben Speight and Ben McKinley.

"The best thing about Werribee playing finals is we're still playing footy and it's tough, competitive footy, so it's good preparation in case any of us get a call up to the AFL," Sierakowski added.

The former Hawk rookie has made plenty of inroads since arriving at Aegis Park, and says he's ready to play at the top level even if that means debuting in a final.

"It'd be pretty intimidating but in saying that, with the coaches and all of the players we have here, they'd all get around you and make sure you're confident going in and reassure you just to play your role. That's what they expect and that's what I'd expect to do I guess."

Refusing to get ahead of himself, the hard running half-back is intent on focusing on the Casey Scorpions who have been dominant in the VFL all year.

"We'll be pretty confident against Casey because of the wins we've had this year against them, including one in particular a few rounds ago.

"In finals, everything gets a little bit more simplified and it just comes down to winning the contested footy and making a contest of it and whoever can get a good start, is usually hard to knock over. So in the first week, we need to get a good start, build some confidence up early and then play out the four quarters with some consistency.

"Hopefully well go deep in the finals."

Werribee plays Casey on Sunday.
