kangaroos.com.au says

Thompson was one of many who turned in a career-best season to help North into the finals.

Consistent as ever, he played on all types of forwards from James Podsiadly to Eddie Betts and rarely lowered his colours. Thompson also found more of the ball, highlighted with a 39-possession haul against Greater Western Sydney in Round 23.

He was also second in total marks at North behind Drew Petrie. With a well-rounded game, he'll go into 2013 still one of the first picked every week by Brad Scott and the match committee.

Quotes

"You find that with the guys who have to work pretty hard to get on a list or have come into the system in a different way, they have just got that edge to them."
Shane Watson

"The 24 intercept possessions Thompson had against Greater Western Sydney was the most by any player since Champion Data introduced the statistic."
