North’s first win in a close game this season earned it a position in the top eight with six rounds to play. It also threw up some noteworthy statistics and kangaroos.com.au takes a look at all the numbers from Sunday's narrow 4-point win against Richmond.

The team

- Under Brad Scott, North has never been in the top eight this late into a season.

- North's clearance work was a feature with the 44 recorded five more than its season average of 39 per game.

- Richmond was forced into 55 clangers, seven more than its average of 48 per game.

- There were multiple goals scored after spectacular run and carry demonstrated through North’s uncontested possession total of 246; its highest in the past three weeks.

- North has only lost two of its last nine games against Richmond at the MCG, going undefeated in the last four encounters at the ground.

- In the four matches Scott has coached against Richmond, North has kicked 103 on three occasions and 104 on the other.

Individuals

- Todd Goldstein was second amongst all ruckmen for hitouts during Round 17. His 47 is a significant leap on the 31.6 he averages for 2012.

- Scott McMahon's disposal efficiency of 94 percent was his second highest for the season, only behind his perfect game in Round 3 against Geelong.

- Nathan Grima's 21 uncontested possessions is the second highest tally in his career.

- While he has spent the majority of his time in the side playing as a link man, Sam Gibson collected seven contested possessions on Sunday; a career high.
