It looms as another interesting week at the selection table, as North looks to break its three-game losing streak.

Several players put their hand up for selection during a scratch match on Saturday, while the Roos will be sweating on the fitness of some key names.

Shaun Higgins (knee), Tarryn Thomas (concussion), Jack Ziebell (hamstring) and Ben Cunnington (back) are among those hoping to be ready come Saturday night.

Defenders

Key-backs Ben McKay and Sam Durdin continue to put themselves in the frame for selection, drawing praise from Head of Development Gavin Brown in recent weeks.

The strong form of Robbie Tarrant and Josh Walker in defence could make it difficult to break into the side for now.

Tom Murphy has shown composure at AFL level and is awaiting another opportunity.

Majak Daw took a fantastic mark during the scratch match with the Western Bulldogs. Tom Campbell made an impact in the opening minutes of the game as well.

Midfielders

The Roos have a raft of midfield options waiting in the wings, with Bailey Scott among those pushing his case with some impressive run-and-carry in the scratch matches.

Paul Ahern is another player whose foot skills could be welcomed, while Aiden Bonar added another string to his bow on the weekend, playing a role in defence.

Jack Ziebell can go through the midfield or into attack, assuming he can overcome a hamstring injury.

Tom Campbell is always around the mark and continues to do everything right.

Forwards

Will Walker continues to build up his match fitness by the week, while Kayne Turner made a successful return from his foot injury.

Mason Wood could add some extra flexibility in the Roos’ front six.
