North Melbourne assistant coach Heath Scotland says “confronting conversations” were had after the side’s 49-point loss to the Dogs.

“After spending most of yesterday settling in [on the Gold Coast], we’ve been able to review the game from the weekend,” Scotland told North Media.

“We were really disappointed with that game, and the two prior, so today has been a really good opportunity to reflect on that and start putting in some processes to rectify our performance and focus on Essendon.”

The Roos were comprehensively beaten on Saturday night, with the manner of the defeat frustrating the coaches and fans alike.

“We’ve got to address the situation,” Scotland said.

“We’ve identified the areas that weren’t up to standard, and there were some confronting conversations today, as a group and individually.”

North hit the track for the first time on the Gold Coast on Tuesday, and Scotland is confident things will turn around.

“Putting those areas to fix into practice started today,” he said.

“It was great to get the lungs open over kicking some footy’s before the main session on Wednesday.”
