“What a goal from a superstar by the name of Daniel Wells”, Fox Footy commentator Eddie McGuire proclaimed after another wonderful finish from North Melbourne’s number eight.

But it came with much surprise when Wells’ name didn’t appear in the AFL’s Goal of the Year nominations on Tuesday.

Starting with the ball on the wing during the third quarter of Sunday’s game, the Kangaroos’ midfielder stormed away from the Bombers’ Stewart Crameri, taking four bounces, running inside 50 and kicking his fourth goal.

It was one of the highlights of the day, and certainly one of the best goals of the season from a North Melbourne player, capping off a brilliant month for Wells.
